Copenhagen, June 1, 2023 – NextGen IT company Trifork has won a 20 million DKK tender from the Danish Road Traffic Authority (Færdselsstyrelsen) for the development, implementation, and operation of a digital solution for conducting theory tests for driver’s licenses.

Currently, the Danish Road Traffic Authority conducts theory tests in an analog format, meaning that test responses are physically recorded on an answer sheet. The tests are then manually graded by the supervisor using physical grading sheets. The Danish Road Traffic Authority conducts approximately 200,000 theory tests annually, and the digital solution will significantly improve efficiency, security, and user-friendliness for both citizens and the professionals conducting the tests.

“We are delighted and proud to have been chosen by the Danish Road Traffic Authority to deliver an innovative digital solution for an event that most Danes are familiar with. We can draw on our many years of experience in developing customized solutions, and Trifork already provides digital solutions for conducting exams to public and private clients in countries such as the Netherlands and Switzerland. We look forward to a successful partnership with the Danish Road Traffic Authority”, says Simon Brandt, Business Unit Leader at Trifork.

It is expected that the first digital theory tests will take place in early 2024.
